The Faculty of Applied Sciences is the largest faculty of TU Delft, with around 550 scientists, a support staff of 250 and 1,800 students. The Department of Bionanoscience at the TU Delft is dedicated to research at the interface between nanoscience, synthetic biology, and cell biology. It studies single molecules and single cells in all their complexity down to the molecular level, from both fundamental scientific and application points of view. It operates as part of the Kavli Institute of Nanoscience at the Faculty of Applied Sciences and aims at a leading international position.

Job description

The Aubin-Tam group at the TU Delft is looking for a highly motivated post-doctoral researcher with a PhD in biochemistry, molecular biology, biophysics or a related field. This post-doctoral position concerns structural and functional studies on a motor protein integrated in the membrane, and crucial for protein degradation. The project will require the successful candidate to use novel biophysical tools. The project also involves structural studies with cryo-electron microscopy, either through collaboration or by the candidate him/herself, depending on the candidate's background. Previous experience in the purification and study of membrane proteins is a plus.

Requirements

The candidate should have a PhD degree in the field of biochemistry, structural or molecular biology, biophysics or a related field. Good communication skills in English are required.
